A bit more information
As health care continues to evolve and the push for medical/dental integration grows, educating future practitioners competent in interprofessional collaboration and practice is imperative in health professions education. CODA standards for both dental and dental hygiene education both include explicit IPE requirements to prepare graduates for this evolving paradigm. This is an opportunity for you to join content expert Danielle Rulli, RDH, MS, DHSc and other fellow educators to explore ways to develop IPE aspects within their programs and overcome barriers to successful integration of IPE into their curricula.Â
Objectives:
- Examine Key concepts of IPE/IPCP, Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) competencies, and accreditation.
- Assess key components of institution and program personal efforts in IPE/IPC that are opportunities or challenges to integrating IPE
- Discuss examples of successful IPE and how they can be applied to your curriculum
